However, the fall was not what the aggressor expected. Instinctively, the young woman managed to cling during the descent to the metal structure of a service platform located just a few meters below the edge of the roof.
Her hands slipped on the icy metal, the wind shook her dress, and her legs dangled in the void, high above the city. Several employees who were on the terrace saw the scene and began to shout for help.
The building’s security personnel reacted quickly. Two men went down a technical ladder and, in less than a minute, managed to catch up with the woman and lift her onto the platform. He was trembling, his hands were bloody from the cuts caused by the metal, but he was still alive. Minutes later, the rooftop was filled with police and medical personnel.
The statement that sealed the fate of the culprit
While the young woman was being taken to the hospital, she managed to open her eyes for an instant. In a barely audible voice, he turned to one of the police officers present and said a few words that were enough:
“Please…” Don’t let her go.
At that moment, the mother-in-law understood for the first time that her plan had completely collapsed. What he had imagined as the path to an inheritance became the beginning of a judicial process for attempted homicide.
