It was perhaps one of those objects about which one does not ask questions unless one is perfectly prepared for an embarrassing explanation.
So I did what many disoriented people would probably have done in the same situation.
I picked it up.
I turned it over several times.
I examined it from every angle.
I pretended to understand exactly what I was looking at.
Then I discreetly replaced it in the exact spot where I had found it.
But the mystery remained for me.
What was that?
In the end, curiosity won out.
After some research, I finally found the answer.
